Atlanta and Chicago Dealers: Save the Date! NBDA Seminars are Coming to You

Costa Mesa, California

In response to member requests and industry input, the NBDA is building upon its industry-renowned Super Seminar educational series at Interbike by hosting full-day regional educational conferences for dealers this year in Atlanta and Chicago.

"This is the first round of bringing content direct to dealer's markets," states NBDA Executive Director Fred Clements. "Many dealers attend NBDA Super Seminars at Interbike, but we know many other dealers are either too busy to participate at the show or only one member of the group is able to attend while the other is working the floor or attending meetings. The Bicycle Leadership Conference (BLC) creates another exciting venue of full-industry participation, but these regional seminars will focus on dealer-only issues in an intimate setting of participants."

Seminar content will focus on dealer retail education, and will feature a presentation and workshop by Dan Mann on employee issues: selection, organizing the work, removing obstacles to great performance and creating a culture of excellence. Also included will be an in-depth discussion of the recently conducted U.S. Specialty Bicycle Retailer Study, hot issues affecting bicycle retailers today, and an overview of the NBDA and its programs. The event is also designed to allow for more networking interaction between dealers. "We have always supported regional chapters for the NBDA, and hope that events like these will further bond owners and managers in common business markets together for the greater good of the industry," states NBDA President Jay Graves of the Bike Gallery in Portland, OR.

By adding regional seminars to its portfolio of offerings, the NBDA continues to enhance member benefits. Reservations are required for the all-day event, and can be made online now at All bicycle dealers regardless of membership status are invited. Attendance for NBDA members is free, non-members $30 per person -- but this fee can be applied toward NBDA membership dues. Food and refreshments will be provided. Look for more regional seminar details in the coming weeks.
