The League of American Bicyclists
2009 Annual Meeting
03.06.09 Washington, D.C.
The League of American Bicyclists is opening its doors to the public for their 2009 Annual meeting at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This meeting will focus on building a bright future for cycling and the League's recent successes and coming plans for 2009. The meeting offers a unique opportunity to hear two influential members of the bicycling community: Andreas Rohl, head of Copenhagen, Denmark's Bicycle Office and Jeff Mapes author of Pedaling Revolution.
These two speakers will discuss how a city can be transformed by bicycling. Rohl will examine what a world class, international capital city can look like when more than 35 percent of all trips are made by bike, and Mapes will explain how advocates across this country are trying to improve American cities for cyclists. Mapes will also be signing copies of Pedaling Revolution after the meeting.
Media coverage is welcomed and encouraged. If you are planning to attend and for further event information, contact Meghan Cahill at 202.822.1333 or at meghan@bikeleague.org.
